Chandrasekhar ' s Contributions to General Relativity

The author is a Professor of Physics at the Penn State, holder of the Eberly Family Chair in Physics, and the Director of the Penn State Institute for Gravitation and the Cosmos. A Fellow of the American Physical Society and a Foreign Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India, Professor Ashtekar has wide ranging interest in astrophysics and cosmology including quantum gravity, general theory of relativity, gauge theory and generalizations of quantum mechanics.
